Professional Work Experience

Casual Teacher - Games: Gateshead College (January 2024 – Current)

Summary: Currently teaching Games subjects (3D modelling, Games Design, E-Sports) for classes from Level 1 to Level 3 under the UAL curriculum. I am responsible for planning and delivering sessions to facilitate learning of software and research techniques relevant to games design and development. I also am responsible for safeguarding, marking student’s work and discussing with my department strategies to engage students.

 

Game Developer (Freelance): I N F I N I T Y 27 (September 2023 – December 2023)

Summary: I freelanced in collaboration with I N F I N I T Y 27 to develop a set of spells for the game Samsara using Unreal Engine 5. I cooperated with designers and artists to prepare the artefact for production. I was also in charge of testing the product and categorising the issues by priority, communicating with the team when problems are encountered.

 

Game Developer: I N F I N I T Y 27 (Feb 2023 – March 2023)

Summary: I worked as a Developer with I N F I N I T Y 27 for 2 weeks in their Skills Bootcamp programme. I was in charge of designing and developing a spell for the game Samsara using the Agile methodology in Unreal Engine 5. Among my responsibilities were to provide a flowchart and UML class diagram as proofs of concept design and code design, participate in scrum meetings and test my and my peers' work with a grey box approach.

 

Senior PASS Leader: University of Sunderland (Oct 2021 – Jul 2023)
Summary: During my time as a Senior Pass Leader, we built a community of collaborative learners among first-year university students. My main tasks are to set up agendas for topics of discussion with students in each meeting and plan activities related to them in order to improve understanding of the content of learning. I mostly cover computing-related subjects as it is my area of expertise, and I am constantly guiding students and new PASS Leaders with constructive feedback and teaching techniques. I also assist Supervisors with reports and record tracking, or simply leading debrief sessions with the Leaders. 

Other Professional Experience

Crew Member: McDonald’s Sunderland Retail Park (Oct 2020 – Jul 2023)

Summary: As a crew member I was responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food and drinks ensuring gold standards were achieved, keeping the area clean and aiding customers when needed. Because of my previous experience, I shared my knowledge with my co-workers or new starters leading areas or training people in different stations.

 

Shift Manager: McDonald’s Churchill Square Brighton (Nov 2015 – Jul 2020)

Summary: As a Shift Manager I was responsible for inventory management to make sure stock levels and waste costs were recorded accurately (with attention to the quality of products delivered and accuracy) and scheduling staff according to labour targets and sales projections. In my daily routine, I was leading staff to maintain production and service balance and motivating coaching to use correct procedures or role-modelling customer-focused behaviours. I was also dealing with planned maintenance and unplanned failure of equipment, ensuring cash controls were in place and maintaining safety and security during the shift.
